Greater Nashville Real Estate Among Best College Towns for Investors

Nashville Skyline

Real estate investors are targeting college towns as a prime place to purchase properties.  Nashville ranks number 2 on the best college town real estate market list according to a recent report by Move.com.  Vanderbilt, Belmont and Lipscomb University are expanding their student population at  rapid rates and with that come an increase in rental demand.  Belmont University has doubled its enrollment in the past ten years.  Lipscomb University has increased enrollment 50% over the last five years.  For real estate investors the timing and opportunity are a good combination.  Parents often decide to invest in real estate while their children are in school and then keep those investments after graduation.

Nashville’s median home price is $189,900 as of June 2011, making buying affordable.  With a mix of single family homes, condos and apartment buildings  surrounding these schools, there are many opportunities for investors to capitalize on the potential for the future.  Nashville’s college town environment is a positive in many ways!
